Friends Detroit Executive Director chosen as Keynote Speaker for The Children's Foundation Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health Summit

To be held April 4, 2023, the summit will be filled with valuable information from professionals and insiders addressing various topics that impact the mental wellness of youth.

The Children's Foundation announced that Friends of the Children- Detroit's Executive Director, Derschaun Monique Brown, will be the keynote speaker at their 2023 Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health Summit. This annual initiative, which will be held April 4th at the Inn at St. John's in Plymouth, Michigan, is designed to create positive change in the mental wellness of youth. Today, one in five children experiences a behavioral health crisis including substance use, mood disorders, ADHD, and others. Fewer than 20 percent of these children receive proper care.

This summit will be filled with enlightening and valuable information from professionals and insiders addressing a variety of critical topics related to substance use disorder, trauma and depression in children, challenges for individuals with intellectual disorders, and more. The Summit is an excellent opportunity for parents, clinicians, social service providers and educators to expand their knowledge of behavioral health and dive deep into topics that affect Michigan youth.

Friends of the Children- Detroit is honored to have Ms. Brown and our work highlighted. To learn more about the conference, keynotes and other speakers, and how to register, visit https://yourchildrensfoundation.org/child-adolescent-behavioral-health-summit/
